Dance Instructors Roger & Claire Vaka
SUMMARY
Roger started dancing at age five and began teaching in 1962. He taught all styles of dancing. Claire started at age eight and began teaching ballroom dancing in 1973. Both taught until becoming full time performers in 1980. Now Roger & Claire teach beginner, intermediate and advanced social ballroom dancing in the South Shore area of Boston, MA. They are very successful at helping students to learn, have fun and build confidence in their abilities to dance.

2001-2010 Social Ballroom Dance Teachers
Teaching social ballroom dance for the Hingham Community Center, the South Shore Community Center - Cohasset, The Dance Shop - Holbrook, and private and class lessons in the towns of Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, and Scituate.
1980-2000 Performers, Bon Voyage With The Vakas
Twenty years of performing throughout the world with three original musical production shows, “The Roger & Claire Vaka Show”, “The Roger & Claire Las Vegas Revue” and “Bon Voyage With The Vakas”.
1976-1979 Dance Instructors, Self Employed as Roger & Claire Vaka
Three years of teaching ballroom and line dancing on the South Shore at social and fraternal organizations. Roger was an active member of Dance Teachers’ Club Of Boston and the Dance Master’s Of America. January 1976 Roger & Claire became husband and wife.
1970-1975 Dance Instructors, Anna Garrity/Brad Erwin Dance Studio - Weymouth, Theatre Arts School of Dancing - Randolph, Arthur Murray’s - Boston, Kiley’s School of Dance - Taunton. Roger an active member of Dance Teachers’ Club Of Boston and the Dance Master’s Of America. Claire began teaching ballroom in 1973.
1966-1970 Roger - Soldier, United States Air Force
Although trained for other military duties, Roger was able to teach briefly at Fred Astaire’s - Utica, NY and the USAF Officer’s Club while stationed in Germany.
1962-1966 Roger, Student and Instructor, Anna Garrity/Brad Erwin Dance Studios - Weymouth Roger graduated from High School and began teaching in 1962. He attended the Boston Conservatory of Music, Dance and Drama1962 -1966. Claire graduated from High School in 1965.
